Rochelle Baker (Shelly) is a cairns local and is 25 years young. She has been studying permaculture for last two years and last year founded a permaculture farm along side her partner in Canada, BC.
Her passion begun here, learning the importance of creating a symbiotic environment showed that there is an alternative path that ensures we thrive along side nature not just surviving or taking the earth and resources for granted.
This is where she discovered her love for working with children along side nature. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn was contagious and made it even more fun and enthusiastic.
This also highlighted the importance of passing on this knowledge to children, planting the seeds in their minds at a young age is critical in these times.
Shelly is looking forward to now be running the Nature Kids program so close to her home town.
